I’m still working away at the cupboard project. There just hasn’t been much significant progress to merit a blog post. Soon. Meanwhile, I finished a custom project, a desk box someone ordered as a present. So I can’t show you the front, there’s initials carved on it. After the holiday I’ll show the whole thing. Unless I forget.
I have just a couple of pieces here for sale – there’ll be more, but not until January some time. If you’d like any of these just leave a comment or send me an email. Prices include shipping in the US. You can pay through paypal (I’ll send an invoice) or send a check.
If you’d like to order a piece, just let me know. Email is email@example.com
CARVED BOX, butternut with red oak
H: 9 1/4″ W: 24″ D: 14 3/4″
$1.200 includes shipping in US
This carved box is made from butternut. It is one of maybe only two or three boxes I’ve made this year. Not a traditional wood for these boxes, but I love carving it. Has the great properties of walnut, but I can see what I’m doing as I work it.
There’s a till inside as usual.
BRETTSTUHL, black walnut, hickory and white oak SOLD
H: 34″ Seat height 18″ seat width 17 1/2″ seat depth 14″ overall depth 17″
$1,400 includes shipping in US
Brand-new in the past week or two is this walnut (& hickory) brettstuhl. Maybe my most ambitious carving. I’m really enjoying making these chairs. Just the right combination of simple and complex. In the view below you can just see the ends of the battens under the seat, with the back’s tenons poking through them & wedged from behind. If you want to read more about them, here’s a post about assembling an earlier black walnut one https://pfollansbee.wordpress.com/2021/05/31/next-brettstuhl-assembled/
BRETTSTUHL butternut, ash and white oak
H: 34″ W: seat – 17 1/2″ feet – 21 3/4″ D: 20″ SH: 18 1/8″
Another brettstuhl in butternut. This one’s from earlier in the year, the first brettstuhl I was really happy with.
There will be ladderback chairs and carved boxes again, after the cupboard project is done & delivered. Which I hope is January. If you’d like any of these just leave a comment or send me an email. Prices include shipping in the US. You can pay through paypal (I’ll send an invoice) or send a check. If you’d like to order a piece, just let me know. Email is firstname.lastname@example.org
