a kiddie-drawing interlude

You’ll have to bear with me; I just managed to snag this drawing by Rose. I skipped right over the squirrel – this is a 6-yr old who knows oak leaves & acorns like nobody’s business.

  1. Rose, you are a good woodworker and a good artist. Way to go girl! We have tiny red squirrels where I live but not very many oak trees. Maybe that is why the squirrels are so small?

  2. Great acorns. I have a nice stump but never thought to put legs onto it. Any tips on getting big enough holes for the legs without a huge auger?

    There! It’s done. Whew!

Great job, Rose. I wish I had paid more attention to the trees around me when I was six. Maybe you’ll be illustrating your dad’s future books.
