Morning: we’ve had eagles around for the past week-plus. Since the blizzard. But I hadn’t got any good photos yet.
then, afternoon: a saw-whet owl. I had never seen one before.
Not a bad day.

I need to go up there and visit. You make it look peaceful. I have a cousin in western Mass. Keep up the good days.

Man, I need to get out of the city and back to the country. Stunning photos, good sir. Thanks, Mr. Follansbee.

I was reading that one of the first birds caught and eaten by the Pilgrims as they were searching for an ideal site, was a Bald Eagle. It was reputed to taste like…*wait for it*….mutton. Raising the question: was mutton the ubiquitous chicken taste of the 17th century?!? Deep thoughts my friends.

There is an island in the bay on the west side of Port Townsend you might be interested in. It is a protected wildlife sanctuary for birds. Hopefully you will be able to go on a private or public cruise around it.
